Yes. Our formulas were tested on sensitive skin and are safe and effective for all skin types.

We avoid SLS, synthetic fragrance, drying alcohols, and silicones. Our active ingredients (hyaluronic acid and niacinamide) are safe and gentle. We have found that the niacinamide can leave a slight tingling feeling on the skin.

Our chosen floral and citrus essential oil blend avoids the harsher herbs that may cause a skin reaction.

We follow the Environmental Working Group, EU and Credo clean beauty standards.

We choose the most gentle ingredients that we can. We do not use artificial colours or fragrances, SLS, harsh chemicals, silicones or barrier-stripping acids.

Our products are very lightly scented with flower and citrus essential oils, which are gentler on the skin.

No synthetic fragrance is used. Our subtle scent comes from natural essential oil blend of rose, sandalwood, neroli, grapefruit, well within IFRA dermal limits.

We prioritize olfactory wellness and skin integrity. Our scent profiles evoke the a luxurious experience without triggering fragrance sensitivities.

We use a low percentage of niacinamide, a well-tolerated concentration backed by clinical studies to:

• Improve skin tone and texture
  
• Support ceramide synthesis (for barrier repair)
  
• Calm redness and inflammation
  

It’s pH-balanced and paired with soothing agents like aloe vera and algae, which reduce the risk of sensitivity. However, we always recommend patch testing for extremely reactive skin.

Our formulas are free from retinoids, parabens, synthetic fragrance, and known endocrine disruptors. Some of our early product testers used Maris Dae throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding and reported great benefits from our hydrating formulas.

Essential oils are present in low concentrations, if you have a strong scent aversion, we recommend reviewing with your healthcare provider, especially during the first trimester.

We recommend using our bodycare line for any of your dry skin from the neck down. Our formulas are safe and gentle, however, we are formulating a unique product for the more sensitive and hydration-hungry face.

Despite the name, hyaluronic acid has nothing in common with exfoliating acids like AHAs or salicylic acid. It doesn't resurface, strip, or irritate, it hydrates.

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant: a naturally occurring molecule your body already produces, found in your joints, connective tissue, and skin. Its job is to attract and hold water (up to 1,000x) its own weight. As we age (or as cold, wind, and sun take their toll), our natural hyaluronic acid levels drop. Applying it topically replenishes that moisture reservoir directly in the skin.

It's one of the most well-tolerated ingredients in skincare, suitable for sensitive, reactive, and compromised skin types. We use it in both our Body Wash and Body Serum specifically because it hydrates without disrupting the skin barrier, which is the opposite of what harsh acids do.

Use it daily. It works best applied to slightly damp skin, which gives it water to draw from. That's exactly why we recommend massaging the Body Serum in right after the shower.

• Mazzaella Japonica + Bull Kelp Complex — A red seaweed and brown seaweed that is only found in BC, rich in bioactive polysaccharides, amino acids, and antioxidants; shown to improve hydration and reduce UV-induced oxidative stress
